Template 7 · Trend-responsive content
Cultural relevance- Strategic job
- Connect The Meeting Tree authentically to a current cultural or platform trend, without producing content that goes stale before or shortly after publication.
- Topic clusters
- Varies by trend — select the existing topic cluster the trend most naturally supports. Do not create a new topic cluster for trend content.
- Editorial lenses
- Varies by trend — select from the existing six lenses. Trend-responsive content still requires exactly one primary lens.
- Buyer stage
- Varies by trend — typically awareness or consideration.
- Publication rule
- Every trend must be assessed for durability before a content brief is written. Use the Durability Assessment below. Do not produce content for a trend without first classifying it. Flash-durability trends may only use the Stories format. Do not delay a Flash or Short-arc trend into a future production cycle — if it cannot be produced within its durability window, discard it rather than queue it.
- CTA
- Varies by trend — must still follow the CTA-to-buyer-stage rule that applies to every other template.
- Success metrics
- Standard metrics for the format used, plus: time from trend identification to publication (should not exceed the trend's durability window).
Durability Assessment
| Durability tier | Typical lifespan | Recommended format | Production guidance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flash | Under 10 days, usually audio-driven | Stories only | Same-day or next-day production only. If missed, discard — do not schedule into a future week. |
| Short arc | 2–4 weeks, usually format-driven (e.g. a specific Reel structure) | Reels | Must enter production within the first week of identification. |
| Sustained / seasonal | Weeks to a few months | Reels and Carousels | Fits within existing campaign windows (e.g. Día de Muertos); plan as a multi-week arc, not a single post. |
| Structural | Multi-year shift | Carousels, Pinterest, evergreen editorial | No urgency; schedule anytime within existing topic-cluster and cadence allocations. |
Note
Most trends relevant to The Meeting Tree are Sustained/seasonal or Structural. Treat Flash and Short-arc trends as optional upside, not a queue that must be cleared — chasing every fast trend at this posting cadence risks producing content that is stale before it publishes.
Screening rule
Before writing any trend-responsive brief, confirm the trend passes the same checks as every other content item: does it fit one topic cluster and one editorial lens, does it avoid prohibited language, and does it avoid implying a claim the brand cannot yet support (for example, content aimed at an audience segment still marked Research required). A trend that requires bending brand voice, exaggerating evidence, or implying a confirmed offer that does not exist should be logged and discarded, not adapted to fit.
Safeguards before publishing
- Template 4 cannot display as confirmed or bookable.
- Template 5 requires a confirmed offer status.
- Template 5 cannot publish without inclusions, exclusions, audience, CTA, and booking path.
- Template 6 requires recorded permission for guest or partner content.
- Every template requires a primary topic cluster and a primary editorial lens.
- Every template requires a buyer-journey stage and a success metric.
- Every CTA must be appropriate to the buyer stage.
Photography & Visual Accuracy Guidelines
Operational detail supporting Brand Book Part IX's “Photography, at a glance.” Full shot-by-shot briefs for active campaigns live in the working Content Calendar, not here.
Brand mark on imagery
Brand mark on imagery: low-opacity watermark, corner placement only; never centred over busy photography; never full-opacity.
Accuracy checklist
- No AI-generated people, places, or ceremonial scenes presented as real.
- Group size depicted matches reality — no crowd shots implying scale that contradicts small-group positioning.
- No imagery implies confirmed booking availability that does not exist.
- Cultural elements captured respectfully, in context — never as costume or spectacle.
- Colours match the brand palette in post — no oversaturated “stock travel” grading.
- Any partner, artisan, or local individual depicted has given permission.
Common errors to avoid
- Using festival imagery as the value explanation instead of the design thesis.
- Posed “authenticity” — directing a subject to perform a moment for the camera.
- Crowd-scale photography that contradicts “twelve, not twelve busloads”.
QC protocol
- Confirm real, in-context subjects before shooting.
- Check first shots against this list during production.
- Acceptable post-production edits: colour grading, cropping, standard exposure.
- Prohibited edits: adding or removing people, AI elements, or altering cultural objects.
