Part I · Foundation
Brand Foundation
A tree is a gathering place — shelter, exchange, memory. So is a well-designed journey.
Essence, purpose, mission, vision
Essence
Gathering with meaning.
The metaphor of the meeting tree speaks to community, roots, ancestry, and the human instinct to gather under something larger than oneself. It is shelter, orientation, exchange, memory, and connection — rooted yet open. For a global travel business, this metaphor is what allows the brand to feel intimate rather than corporate.
Purpose
To create travel that helps people feel held, connected, and changed by place.
The brand exists because many travellers — especially families and small groups — want something deeper than convenience but less performative than staged authenticity.
Mission
To make travel more human, coherent, and meaningful by designing journeys that bring people closer to one another and to the places they visit—with care, cultural intelligence, and calm attention to detail.
Expressed through themed group journeys, private journey design, experiences, concierge guidance, and seasonal partner-led retreats — reducing friction while increasing depth.
Vision
A globally recognised independent travel brand for meaningful shared journeys.
For people who value meaningful shared journeys over checklist travel — known for emotional intelligence, narrative coherence, and the ability to bring together people, place, and care.
Mission test
A clear mission answers:
- Why do we exist beyond making money?
- What do we build?
- How do we show up?
- What do we stand for?
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Why | To make travel more human, coherent, and meaningful |
| What | Journeys that bring people closer to each other and place |
| How | Care, cultural intelligence, and calm attention to detail |
| Stand for | Connection, context, presence, and respect |
Slogan framework
Slogan framework · one master-brand tagline, defined context lines
The Meeting Tree uses one master-brand tagline and a small number of context-specific message lines. These lines are not interchangeable slogans. Each has a defined purpose so the brand remains recognisable, clear, and coherent across public identity, services, campaigns, and conversations.
| Role | Copy | Where it is used | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Narrative anchor | A tree is a gathering place—shelter, exchange, memory. So is a well-designed journey. | About page, founder story, private proposals, long-form editorial writing, and selected manifesto material. | — |
| Master-brand tagline | Where travel takes root. | Logo lockup, homepage hero (as the primary headline), public website identity, Instagram profile, business listings, covers, selected social end cards, signature brand moments, and places where direct travel-category clarity is required. | Primary public master-brand tagline. It carries travel-category clarity and continues the Meeting Tree metaphor through 'root' and the tree mark, adding motion, belonging, and permanence. It helps distinguish The Meeting Tree travel brand from unrelated uses of the name. It must not be used as an SEO title-tag replacement — SEO titles still need practical descriptive language such as 'Private & Small-Group Travel.' On the homepage, pair it as the primary hero headline with 'Travel designed for the way you gather.' as the supporting subheadline directly beneath. |
| Brand philosophy / emotional signature | Gathering with meaning. | About page, Brand Book opening, manifesto, selected itinerary and editorial writing, formal brand moments. | The emotional worldview and signature phrase. It is not expected to carry travel-category clarity on its own — that is the master-brand tagline's job. Use it where the travel category is already established by surrounding context. Do not place it directly beneath 'Where travel takes root.' in the same primary lockup or hero composition unless the context is deliberately long-form editorial. |
| Core value proposition | Travel designed for the way you gather. | Homepage hero subheadline (directly beneath the master-brand tagline), services overview, proposals, explanatory pages, introductory copy. | — |
| Editorial / manifesto pull-quote | Travel that gathers, roots that hold. | About page pull-quotes, print applications (itinerary covers, welcome cards), email sign-offs, long-form editorial closers, and reflective seasonal captions (for example, Día de Muertos content). | The only line combining travel, gathering, and rootedness in one sentence, so it carries the fullest expression of the metaphor. Its length and literary rhythm suit editorial and print placement, not compact digital lockups. Do not use in the primary hero or logo lockup — reserve for a single supporting placement per composition. |
| Small-Group Journeys | Travel with a shared sense of purpose. | Small-group travel overview page, current group journey campaigns, themed journey pages, group travel proposals. | — |
| Private Journey Design | A journey shaped around how you move together. | Private Journey Design page, private proposals, enquiry flow, discovery calls, private travel onboarding. | — |
| Seasonal Retreats | Gather, reflect, and be changed by place. | Confirmed seasonal retreat landing pages and approved retreat communications only. | — |
| Social / short-form message line | Thoughtful travel, guided with care. | Instagram bio, Reels, concise video overlays, Stories, selected paid-media creative, and social captions. | — |

Brand story
The Meeting Tree began with a simple observation: travel can bring people together, but planning it often does the opposite. Families, friends, and group organisers can find themselves carrying too many decisions, too much logistics, and little room to be present once they arrive.
The brand grew from a background in creating gatherings and experiences. That work made one thing clear: the way people are welcomed, paced, and held changes what becomes possible between them. Travel deserved the same care.
The Meeting Tree exists to design journeys that bring people, place, and time into a more coherent relationship. We begin with how people travel together, then shape the rhythm, context, practical detail, and human encounters around that.
What makes us different is not a claim to hidden access or a louder version of luxury. It is the belief that a well-designed journey can help people feel more present with one another and more attentive to the place they have come to understand.
